VIDEO – Victor Martins’ run to give France the Nations Cup

A day of glory for France on the other side of the world. Indeed, the tricolor clan imposed its law this Friday on the occasion of the Nations Cup on the sidelines of the famous Race of Champions which is taking place this weekend in Sydney (Australia).

This victory was the fruit of Victor Martins and Sébastien LoebThe duo had a perfect run, first dominating their group consisting of Finland and Valtteri Bottas and Heikki Kovalainen and the All Star team (Johan Kristoffersson and Chaz Mostert). In the quarter-finals, New Zealanders Hayden Paddon and Louis Sharp were the victims of the Tricolores who validated their ticket for the final after having eliminated the All Star team in the semi-finals.

It was against the locals Brodie Kostecki and Will Brown, the last two Supercars champions, that Sébastien Loeb and Victor Martins were pitted against each other. While the Alsatian lost his first run against Brown, the Francilien won the next two to offer France its first Nations Cup since 2004 and the Jean Alesi-Sébastien Loeb pairing.

« It's amazing. Victor did a huge job., greeted the nine-time world rally champion. He beat all the fastest guys even though it's only his first time. Winning the Nations Cup is a really great moment. »

The individual races will take place this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. (French time).
