The first three hours of the 12 Hours of Sebring were marked by several accidents. The No. 31 Cadillac was notably involved.

Starting in pole position, the No. 31 Cadillac V-Series.R from Whelen Engineering lost big in an accident after an LM P3 spun under the nose of Pipo Derani. Different GTPs took turns at the controls of the event and at the end of the third hour, it was Scott Dixon who was in first position in the No. 01 Cadillac. He is ahead of Ricky Taylor in the No. 06 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-10 and the No. 24 BMW of Philipp Eng. Victorious at Daytona, the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura suffered a serious scare when it left the track Helio Castroneves, but is still in the race, in 7th place.
