24 Hours of Daytona – Free Practice 2: Kamui Kobayashi between the drops

While the first practice session of the day saw DragonSpeed's LM P2 take its place at the top of the rankings under the rainy conditions which have not left the Daytona sky since the beginning of the morning, second was more in line with the performance logic of the categories with the return of the DPi to the first places. The Cadillacs were in full swing, particularly Action Express Racing. The team thus signed a double with the n°48 of Kamui Kobayashi in front of n°31 of Mike conway. Le Japonais, auteur d’un tour en 1:35.470, a devancé son coéquipier chez Toyota en WEC of a second and a half. 

Nico Müller set the best time in LM P2 and third overall with High Class Racing in 1:37.012. Philppe Fraga dominated the LM P3s with the No. 320 Riley Motorsports Ligier JS P74. The Canadian Mikael Grenier placed the Mercedes-AMG GT3 n°57 in first position in the GT category. The first GTD Pro only appears in 30th place with the No. 3 Lexus RC F GT14 of VasserSullivan.

The drivers will set off at 19:15 p.m. local time for the final session this Thursday in Florida.
