6 hours of Spa – The No. 8 Toyota retires, the No. 7 in the lead

Catastrophe chez Toyota chez 6 Heures de Spa-Francorchamps. Alors que la n°8 occupait la première place de l’épreuve, Sébastien Buemi stopped for the first time during the restart under Safety Car. Starting 14th again, the Swiss driver finally stopped a few meters further on, furious and forced to retire due to a mechanical problem. This is the second retirement after that of ARC Bratislava, the Slovenian team capitulating after Miroslav Konopka went off the track, triggering the red flag. The #7 Toyota thus inherits the lead of the event with 4:30 to go, ahead of the LM P2s of Prema and WRT. Olivier Pla actually spun with Glickenhaus n°708, taking him off-piste Andre Negro in theAlpine No. 36. The Frenchman fell to sixth place and the Brazilian to fourth. The race is still under Safety Car while it is raining in certain places on the circuit.
