6H of Fuji – Pole in Hypercar… slower than in Super GT

The pole of Kamui Kobayashi at the 6 Hours of Fuji for the fifth and penultimate round of the world endurance championship season will not be the fastest recorded in 2022 on the circuit located at the foot of the famous Japanese volcano. Indeed, the time of the former pilot of Formula 1, réalisé sur la Toyota GR010 Hybrid n°7, est plus de trois secondes plus lent que celui de son compatriote Senan Sakaguchi lors de la manche 4 du Super GT cette année. On August 6, the latter completed his best lap in 1:26.178 in another car from the Japanese brand, a GR Supra GT500.

Comparison of the best Super GT times and WEC in Fuji:

GT500: 1:26.178

Hypercar: 1:29.234

LM P2: 1:31.649

GTE: 1:36.371
