It's not just in GT that spectators will be able to enjoy special liveries this weekend on the sidelines of the 12 Hours of Sebring. Like the Pratt Miller Motorsports Corvettes, BMW's M Hybrid V8s will also sport a different livery in Florida.

The German manufacturer is also celebrating an anniversary, the 50th anniversary of BMW North America. It was on March 15, 1975 that the adventure began for the North American branch in Montvale, New Jersey. The first victory came just a few days later with a success at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 21 with Brian Redman, Hans Stuck, Sam Posey and Alan Moffat in a 3.0 CSL.

This livery takes up other moments that have marked the history of BMW North America such as the victory, again at Sebring, of the V12 LMR in 1999 driven by Tom Kristensen, JJ Lehto and Jorg Müller, the latter's title in ALMS in 2001 at the wheel of the M3 GTR, or the triumph at the 12 Hours in 2012 thanks to Dirk Müller, Joey Hand and Jonathan Summerton on the M3 GT. It was also at Sebring that the M Hybrid V8 took its first podium in a race in 2023 before winning a few months later at Watkins Glen. Coincidentally, this 73rd edition will take place... on March 15.
