Free Practice 3 of the 6 Hours of Imola was marred by several accidents, including two red flags. One of them was caused by the car coming to a stop on the side of the track. Ferrari 499P No. 83 from the AF Corse team whose engine went up in smoke while Robert Kubica was at the wheel.
The exact problem is not yet known, but the trans firmalpine will change the engine before tackling qualifying, which is scheduled to start at 15:10 p.m. for the Hypercar category;
« Ferrari 499P number 83, after stopping at the Imola circuit, has been returned to the garage. As a precaution, the engine will be replaced. The unit will be analyzed in Maranello to determine the cause of the problem. " said the Italian manufacturer after the session.
This does not imply a penalty for the race.
