While Laurent Rossi hoped to avoid weekends without overlapping dates between Formula 1 and Endurance, this will not be the case in 2022. For the first time since the creation of the WEC in 2012, races in the same disciplines will take place on the same weekends. This will be particularly the case for 24 Hours of Le Mans, scheduled for June 11 and 12, while the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is scheduled for the same Sunday. Five other clashes will take place in 2022: the 1 miles of Sebring and the Bahrain Grand Prix (March 000-18), the 20 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the Miami Grand Prix (May 6), the 8 Hours of Monza and the Austrian Grand Prix (July 6), the 10 Hours of Fuji and the Italian Grand Prix (September 6) as well as the 11 Hours of Bahrain and the Brazilian Grand Prix (November 8). Finally, only the WEC Prologue in 13 at Sebring (March 2022-12) will take place without a round of Single seat in front. The American WeekendEndurance paired between the WEC and the 12 Hours ofIMSA will also face the Bathurst 12 Hours in Supercars. The “Super Sebring” will thus have to face a “Super Clash” in 2022.
