The No. 01 Cadillac of Chip Ganassi Racing, entrusted to Renger van der Zarde, Kevin Magnussen, Scott Dixon and Marcus Ericsson set the best time in the first free practice session for the 24 Hours of Daytona, the opening round of theIMSA. Time is to be put to work for the first city, which completed its tour in 1'34"649.
The #31 Action Express Racing Cadillac and the #24 Mazda RT55-P complete the top three. The first was less than a tenth behind while the second finished 0 behind Renger van der Zarde's mark.
In LM P2, Nicolas lapierre gave the best time to PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. The Ligier JS P320 from Riley Motorsports dominated the LMP3 debates.
In GTLM, no surprises. The No. 4 Corvette (Tandy-Sims-Milner) outperformed its sister, the No. 3, by almost 3 tenths. In GTD, the best time is to the credit of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 N°28 d’Alegra Motorsports, qui tourné en 1’45“822 devant les Porsche 911 GT3 R n°88 et n°9 de Team Hardpoint EBM et Pfaff Motorsports.
