Après le retrait de la Porsche 911 GT3 R n°23 du WeatherTech Racing engagée en GTD pour le reste de la saison de l’IMSA Sportscar Championship, due to a BoP deemed unfavorable, it is the turn of Park Place Motorsports to withdraw its No. 911 3 GT73 R from the event held in Virginia from August 26 to 28.
“The team has made the independent decision to forfeit the race at Virginia International Raceway due to differing opinions from Park Place Motorsports and IMSA officials regarding the BoP (Balance of Performance) in the GT Daytona class, it is specified in the press release.
Following the Lime Rock Park weekend race, Park Place Motorsports began working with IMSA officials to better understand the processes behind the BoP. The team agreed to sit down and discuss the topic and review the data before the recent adjustments were announced.
After these announcements, Park Place Motorsports concluded that, out of respect for its sponsors, it would not compete in the VIR event. There was no justification for spending money if the competition is not properly balanced, having explained that this was the case when looking for a sponsor. »
