THEIMSA announced a change to the 2016 WeatherTech Sportscar Championship schedule, which concerns the VIRginia International Raceway event. Initially scheduled for August 21, the race bringing together the GTLM and GTD categories was postponed by one week, to August 28, so as not to conflict with the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion on the Laguna Seca track (California).
