IMSA – MSR in the lead at Watkins Glen testing

Oswaldo Negri Jr set the best time in the first practice session for the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen (New York). The driver of the #2 Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P60 set a time of 1'36''705 and was almost four tenths ahead of his closest rival, Max Angelelli at the wheel of the #10 Corvette DP of the Wayne Taylor Racing. Dane Cameron placed the No. 31 Action Express Racing car in third place, more than half a second behind the benchmark, ahead of the No. 5 sister car driven by Christian Fittipaldi. The #2 ESM Ligier completes the top five with Johannes van Overbeek.

In GTLM, Dirk Werner was the fastest, completing a lap in 1'43''574 at the wheel of the No. 6 BMW M25. The German was ahead of the #66 Ford GT of Dirk Müller by a thousandth, while the #67 of Richard Westbrook followed by just over a tenth.

Colin Braun was the best performer in LMPC with a time of 1'38''701 signed in the No. 54 Core Autosport. It was Robin Liddell who set the best GTD lap with a time of 1'46''147 in the No. 8 Stevenson Motorsports Audi R6 LMS.
