Aligned under the Juncos Racing colors in 2015 and 2016 in the Pro Mazda Championship, third division of IndyCar Series, Will Owen will compete for the championship IMSA next year at the wheel of the Cadillac DPi-V.R from Ricardo Juncos’ team.

The structure, which entered a DW12 full-time this season in the IndyCar Series, confirmed last August its presence in the American endurance championship in 2019.

“I’ve dreamed of getting into a DPi since I first saw one on the track, Owen says. The Cadillac DPi-V.R is one of the strongest racing cars ever built.

So it’s an honor to have the opportunity to race with Juncos against the best teams in the world. This year we will face extremely talented drivers. In the past, the idea was intimidating, but thanks to the experience and coaching I received in Europe, I feel ready to take on this challenge. »

Owen played most of his season in Europe this year in ELMS, and climbed to the third step of the podium in LM P2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with United Autosports. Owen also competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans in IMSA with United Autosports then AFS/PR1 Mathiasen.
