Located at the North Gate of the Circuit des 24 Hours of Le Mans, the “M24” project embodies the ambition to develop the 24 Hours of Le Mans Museum into a world-class site dedicated to the history, culture and innovation of motorsports.

Since its creation in 1961, the Musée des 24 Heures du Mans has continued to reinvent itself. After celebrating the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 with a redesign of its permanent exhibition and the creation of exceptional temporary exhibitions, the M24 project marks a decisive turning point. With a total surface area increased to 8m², the M600 will offer an immersive journey through all the disciplines of motorsport, from Formula 1 withEndurance, Through the Rally and American car culture (IndyCar, CanAm…).

Designed by Frédéric Audevard, the future building features bold, environmentally friendly architecture. Evoking the aerodynamics of racing prototypes, the M24 incorporates a green roof, eco-friendly materials such as aluminum, and a circulation system designed like the airflow around a car body.

Led by MACO (Musée Automobile de la Competition), in conjunction with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the project involves 23 companies (the majority of which are based in Sarthe). Work began in January 2025 and is progressing according to a strict schedule, with an official opening planned for the 24 2026 Hours of Le Mans.

« The M24, a future museum dedicated to motor sport, will be built in Le Mans, supported by the ACO and Richard Mille, a great enthusiast and collector, declares Pierre Fillon. This ambitious project will showcase the history of motor racing and contribute to the region's cultural and economic influence. It is scheduled to open in May 2026, to mark the 120th anniversary of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest. »

« Sharing my passion for motorsport through a unique museum in the world is a dream come true with the laying of the foundation stone of the M24, added Richard Mille. The result of a natural collaboration with the ACO, this project will showcase a collection of exceptional cars, true works of mechanical art. The M24, in the heart of Le Mans, a land of legend, aims to become a global benchmark and a must-see for all enthusiasts. »
