Laguna Seca – EL1: Albuquerque and Wayne Taylor in the lead

For the return ofIMSA on the other side of the Atlantic, it was the Taylor-Albuquerque duo who distinguished themselves on the asphalt of Laguna Seca. The two men indeed allowed the No. 10 Acura DPi to dominate the first free practice session of the weekend.

With a best time of 1'14"880 recorded during the 12th of the 28 laps completed, Filipe Albuquerque topped the timesheet. Second by less than a tenth, Felipe Nasr and Pipo Derani (Cadillac DPi No. 31 Action Express) were the only other drivers to run under 1'15 at Laguna Seca. In their No.55 Mazda, Oliver Jarvis and Harry Ticknell completed the Top 3 of these FP1s.

In LM P2, it was the No.52 Oreca from PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports which dominated the proceedings with a best lap of 1'16"115. In GTLM, Corvette placed the No. 4 of Nick Tandy and Tommy Milner on the top step in the category while the No. 6 Turner Motorsport BMW M3 GT96 took the lead in GTD.
