Laguna Seca – Pole position and new track record for Ricky Taylor

Ricky Taylor is in great form at Laguna Seca. The American confirmed his Free Practice times by taking pole position for the fourth round of the 2022 season.IMSA, the second in a row in a sprint format (2h40). With a time of 1:13.924, he even recorded the new record for the Californian track.

The Acuras were definitely at ease in Monterey, since behind the #10 of Wayne Taylor Racing, second place went to the #60 of Meyer Shank Racing, Oliver Jarvis failing just 0.089 behind the poleman. The Cadillac DPi will be on the second and third row with the No. 02 of Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn leading them. PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports dominated the LM P2 category with a one-two finish. Steven Thomas got the better of his teammate Patrick Kelly for first place in 1:17.571.

A Frenchman was the fastest GTD Pro with Mathieu Jaminet (Pfaff Motorsports). The winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona beat Daniel Juncadella (WeathrTech Racing) with a time of 1:23.142. Russell Ward set the best GTD time in 1:23.567 for Winward Racing.

The race will start this Sunday at 21 p.m. French time.
