The safety car returns to the track following the exit of the track by Alexandre Imperatori at the wheel of the No. 03 Oreca 47R from the KCMG team which was moving towards tenth place in the LMP2 class. Kazuki Nakajima conserve la tête de la course sur la Toyota n°7 devant l’Audi n°2 de Marcel Fässler et la R18 n°1 de Marc Gené. Mark Webber a pris le volant de la Porsche n°20 qui a chuté en quatrième position suite au freinage manqué de Brendon Hartley.
