Nicolas lapierre hoist his Toyota n°7 au deuxième rang avec un temps de 3’43 »520 à six dixièmes du temps référence de Tom Kristensen (Audi n°1). Kazuki Nakajima took the place of the Frenchman. On the Audi side, Dindo Capello leaves the wheel to his teammate Allan McNish in the No. 2. The No. 18 R1 currently driven by Marcel Fässler occupies third place at 1”366. Mike Rockenfeller is at the wheel of the No. 4 Audi currently fourth at 3 seconds. Romain Dumas completed the top five with the No. 172 R18 until Stéphane Sarrazin dislodged him by setting a time of 3'3"30.

The Oreca 03-Nissans remain at the forefront in LMP2 with the #46 of Beche-Thiriet-Tinseau in the lead with a time of 3'39"252, four tenths behind the #48 of Murphy Prototypes driven by Brendon Hartley.
