The Grand-Am will have four categories from 2014, when the discipline will merge with the ALMS. The leading categories will be represented with the Daytona Prototypes from the Grand-Am and the LMP2s from the ALMS. The DeltaWing will also be eligible, forcing organizers to carry out a balance of performances. The ALMS LMPCs will also be there with a Pro-Am formula which should be kept within the crews. The GT categories of the two disciplines will be maintained with a possible possibility of registration of the new GX category which is appearing this season in Grand-Am. The ALMS LMP1s will, however, be excluded, as the category is poorly populated in the discipline.
