Mid-Ohio – EL1: Filipe Albuquerque fastest

The season ofIMSA continues with its fifth weekend of the season. At Mid-Ohio, the drivers continued the third sprint round with a new 2h40 event.

Free Practice was dominated by the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura DPi with the best time set by Filipe Albuquerque in 1:11.828. The Acuras were definitely in good shape with second place going to the No. 60 of Meyer Shank Racing with Tom Blomqvist 0.076 seconds behind. The first Cadillac completed the podium of this first session with the No. 02 of Earl Bamber half a second behind the Portuguese.

In the LM P2 category, Ryan Dalziel was the fastest in 1:13.478 with the No. 18 from Era Motorsport. He beat Jonathan Bomarito in the #11 Mathiasen Motorsports PR1 by 0.407 seconds. Will Stevens took third for Tower Motorsport in 1:14.588. In the LM P3, Colin Braun moved to the top of the timesheet with CORE Autorsport's Ligier JS P320 in 1:17.603.

Finally, in the last category entered this weekend at Mid-Ohio, the GTD, Robby Foley got the better of his opponents with the Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 with a lap in 1:21.220. He edged out Jack Hawksworth in VasserSullivan's No. 3 Lexus RC F GT17 by 0.208. Bryan Sellers put a second BMW on the podium with the #1 Paul Miller Racing car.
