Roar Daytona – Free Practice 1: Wayne Taylor Racing gets the ball rolling

One week before the 24 Hours of Daytona, the dress rehearsal takes place this weekend with the Roar, which serves as qualifying for the Florida double-round race. The first Free Practice session of this qualifying race was dominated by defending champion Ricky Taylor. The American put Wayne Taylor Racing's Acura ARX-05 at the top of the timesheets. He beat Oliver Jarvis (Meyer Shank Racing) by 0″293 and Frenchman Sébastien Bourdais (Chip Ganassi Racing) of 0″633.

En LM P2, le meilleur temps a été réalisé par Giedo van der Garde du Racing Team Nederland en 1’36″262 devant Ferdinand Habsburg (Tower Motorsport) de plus d’une seconde. Garett Grist a dominé les LM P3 avec la Ligier JS P320 de Performance Tech Motorsports en 1’43″413. Jan Heylen a placé la Porsche 911 GT3R de Wright Motorsports devant toutes les autres GT3 en 1’46″483. Il a devancé la première GTD Pro, la n°63 du TR3 Racing en 1’46″829.
