While he will be participating in the World Championship ofEndurance with Cadillac in 2026, Sébastien Bourdais will also continue to roll IMSA next season. The Frenchman has extended his contract with Tower Motorsports, with whom he competes in LMP2 in the North American championship.

Upon joining Tower Motorsports in 2025, Bourdais finished 19th in the standings, with his best result being a second place at the 12 Hours of Sebring in LMP2. The Le Mans native will reunite with his two teammates John Farano and Sebastian Alvarez in 2026, while the driver ofIndyCar Kyffin Simpson will be by their side for the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 24-25).

Bourdais and Simpson know each other well: the former pilot Toro Rosso en F1 had been the mentor of his younger brother before the 2024 Indianapolis 500. “This is my retirement plan”, Bourdais was laughing at the time, who started the Indiana classic nine times. “I have a great relationship with the team and the engineer, Danielle (Shepherd), who was with us in the IMSA program the last two years. Chris (Wheeler, race strategist) was my spotter for many years. He's also my best friend in the States, so I came to help out in St. Pete. It went well and seemed like a good solution. We found a way to get me to come to all the races that don't conflict with IMSA. It's a different role. »

History thus reunited the two men two years later in LMP2, where Kyffin Simpson cut his teeth at Daytona with Dragonspeed and Nielsen Racing. 24 Hours of Le MansBourdais and Tower Motorsports will have the opportunity to take their revenge at the next 24 Hours of Daytona, an event won by the Frenchman and the American team in 2025… before disqualification for technical irregularity.
