Toyota a repris la piste pour la première fois depuis son nouveau sacre aux 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Japanese team thus rolled Sébastien Buemi, Nyck de Vries (test and reserve driver) and Ryo Hirakawa at the wheel of number 7, Thursday September 23 and Friday September 24. The Japanese driver usually drives in Super GT and Super Formula, and had already driven the Hypercar in Portimão in June. It was the first outing of an LMH on the Circuit de Catalunya.
