Bosch EngineeringLigier Automotive and Maserati are continuing their collaboration on the JS2 RH2, a hydrogen prototype that will return to 24 Hours of Le Mans 2026. On display all week in the H2 Village, the car will also perform a demonstration lap on the large Sarthe circuit on the Saturday of the race.

The prototype features a hydrogen version of Maserati's 3,0-liter twin-turbo V6 Nettuno. Adapted by Bosch Engineering with a specific hydrogen direct injection system, the engine develops approximately 480 kW and 880 Nm of torque, performance levels close to those of current hypercars.

This association between Ligier and Maserati also recalls a historical precedent: the Ligier JS2 of the 1970s already used a 3,0 litre Maserati V6, notably with a victory in the 1974 Tour Auto.

When will we see a road-going Maserati equipped with the Nettuno V6 with hydrogen direct injection to compensate for the failure of the Folgore battery-powered versions?
