There will be not two, but three Mercedes-AMG GT3 in Sarthe, in June. For its return to 24H of Le Mans, 26 years after its last performance, the brand with the star arrives with three frames, all operated by Iron Lynx. In addition to the two models entered in the season in WEC – the n°60 of Claudio Schiavoni, Matteo Cressoni and Matteo Cairoli as well as the n°61 of Christian Ried, Lin Hodeinus and Maxime Martin – the Italian team will line up a third car, which will carry the n°63. Iron Lynx is therefore responding to the invitation obtained thanks to the title acquired in the European Le Mans Series last year, in the GT3 category.

While the entry of a third car is therefore not a surprise, we now know the crew that will have the honor of driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 No. 63 on June 14 and 15 at Le Mans. And there will be a great family spirit in this car since we will have a father-son association in the German car, with the presence of Stephen and Brenton Whole grainedThe two Australian drivers, aged 57 and 27 respectively, will compete together in the 24 Hours of Le Mans alongside Luca Stolz, official Mercedes driver.

“We are delighted to be fielding an additional car at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and we are proud to represent Mercedes-AMG at this new edition with an expanded programme, rejoices Andrea Piccini, Team Principal & Director of Iron Lynx. Stephen and Brenton both have a lot of experience and are a great addition to the team. Luca is an exceptional driver. I have been his team-mate in the past and I know he is extremely talented and experienced. He is someone the team can really rely on.” The full list of entrants for the 24 2025 Hours of Le Mans will be revealed this Monday, March 3 by the ACO.
