Scott Pruett set the best time in USC's free practice at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin (Texas) in the third session with a time of 1'57"366. The No. 01 Riley-Ford is 2 tenths ahead of the Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2 driven by Oswaldo Negri. The Corvette DPs follow in order of battle with the No. 10 from Wayne Taylor Racing of the eponymous brothers in the lead.
Wolf Henzler set the best GTLM time in the No. 911 Team Falken Tire 17RSR with a lap in 2'03"521 to beat Dirk Werner's BMW Z2 GTE by just 4 hundredths. Renger van der Zande was the fastest in the LMPC with a time of 1'59"609 in the #8 Starworks Motorsport car. It was Christopher Haase who set the best time in the GTC with a time of 2'09"365 in his Paul Miller Racing Audi R8 LMS ultra.
