Towards a more attractive LM P1

The World Motor Sport Council followed the Commission's recommendations Endurance by approving a whole series of measures, particularly on the technical side, to make the LM P1 category more attractive to attract potential new manufacturers to the category. These measures concern heat engines, hybrid systems, aerodynamics, the use of wind tunnels and the limitation of tests.

The World Motor Sport Council has endorsed the proposed 2016 calendar for the World Endurance Championship. Silverstone will open the season on April 17 before the Spa meeting (May 7), while the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place on June 18 and 19. The return from Mexico is confirmed for September 4, between the Nürburgring (July 24) and Austin, Texas (September 17). Fuji in Japan (October 16), Shanghai in China (November 6) and Bahrain (November 19) will conclude the season.

On the safety side, the installation of nets (according to the approval to the FIA ​​8863-2013 standard) will be compulsory in cars in the LMGTE category to reduce the driver's movements in the event of an accident, a measure already applied to GT3 .
