It was impossible to take our eyes off this racing beast. Friday, for the first day of the Prologue of the WEC, organized in Qatar, theAston Martin Valkyrie was the real attraction of the Hypercar grid. If we had already seen it on track, whether during private tests or during tests in IMSA, we had never seen it on an official session with its new colors. Now dressed in a sublime green and fluorescent yellow livery, the colors of Aston Martin Racing, the two Valkyrie were able to grind the tarmac of Losail during the two test sessions organized on Friday.

The #007 and #009 did not go unnoticed at all, both aesthetically and sonically. With its naturally aspirated V12 engine without hybridization, the Valkyrie is certainly the noisiest Hypercar on the grid. The Cadillac and its diabolical naturally aspirated V8 engine found a worthy opponent in this category!

Extravagant on the track, the two Aston Martin Valkyrie were, however, quite discreet in terms of time. The best time was set by the No. 007 of the Tincknell – Gamble – Gunn trio in 1'42″284, the 16th fastest time in Free Practice 2 (2″7 behind the best time achieved by Cadillac No. 12). But the main thing was elsewhere for Aston Martin and the Heart of Racing team, who were able to accumulate the laps without encountering any major problems. In total, the two British machines were able to complete 281 laps on the Losail track. A necessary experience before launching into the deep end, starting next week, with the 1812km of Qatar.
