In 2025, Robert Wickens, who lost the use of his legs in a road accident,IndyCar at Pocono in 2018, will compete in the five sprint rounds of theIMSA in the GTD category with DXDT Racing on a Corvette Z06 GT3.R that will be equipped with a steering wheel control system. Electronic braking that frees up space in the cockpit, but also allows the driver to use less force and thus brake with one hand, freeing the other to downshift. A system developed by Bosch and already used on the Hyundai driven by Wickens, which offers the driver the opportunity to reconnect with the thread of his career cut short in August 2018 in Pennsylvania. While this braking system has already proven itself in the Hyundai, it requires an upgrade to be integrated into a GT3. Wickens' debut with the Corvette Z06 GT3.R on the streets of Long Beach (April 11-12).
