Wayne Taylor Racing dominates first session of the day at the Roar

Jordan Taylor took the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-VR to the lead in the third session of the Roar Before the Rolex 24, official tests held as a preamble to the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 27-28).

The American completed one lap of this session in 1'37″188, thus improving the previous benchmark set yesterday by Filipe Albuquerque (Cadillac DPi-VR n°5 – Action Express / Mustang Sampling Racing) in 1'37″196.

Tristan Vautier places his No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Cadillac in second position in this third session in 1'37″384. Romain Dumas, associated with Loïc duval, Colin Braun and Jon Bennett in the No. 07 Oreca 54 – CORE Autosport, took third place at 0″349.

The top 5 is completed by the No. 31 Cadillac DPi-VR of Nasr – Curran – Conway – Middleton and the #07 Oreca 99 – JDC-Miller Motorsports of Miller – Simpson – Goikhberg – Menezes. The best Nissan DPi – ESM n°22 by van Overbeek – Derani – Stone ranks eighth ahead of the two Oreca 07s from Jackie Chan DC Racing. The No. 217 Ligier JS P23 – United Autosports Alonso - Norris – Hanson takes 11th place at 0″884.

En GTLM, les deux Ford GT ont repris l’avantage sur Porsche avec la n°67 de Briscoe – Westbrook – Dixon en pointe en 1’44″282, chrono à mettre à l’actif de Dixon. La seconde Ford n°66 de Hand – Müller – Bourdais gives up less than two tenths on the sister car.

La Ferrari 488 n°62 – Risi Competizione finished in third place ahead of the first Corvette C7.R n°4 of Gavin – Milner – Fässler and the two Porsche 911 RSRs.

The German brand, however, dominated the GTD category, with the #911 3 GT59 R from Manthey Racing of Cairoli – Müller – Proczyk – Smith – Walls, which precedes the #3 Lamborghini Huracan GT11 – GRT of Bortolotti – Perera – Breukers – Ineichen and n°48 – Paul Miller Racing by Miller – Sellers – Snow – Caldarelli.
