The session ends after the exit of Nick Leventis, driver of the Strakka Racing HPD ARX 01-dn°42. The LMP2 was badly damaged and the debris littering the track forced the marshals to wave the red flag. The HPD nevertheless occupies first place in the LMP2 category.
La Peugeot 908 n°8 of Stéphane Sarrazin therefore remains in the lead at the end of this first qualifying session ahead of the three Audi R18s. Peugeot takes the next two places with #7 and #9.
The #3 BMW M56 remains at the top of the GTE Pro category ahead of the Ferrari 458 Italia n°51 from the AF Corse team.
