Thanks to the mild weather and the low number of safety cars, the Audi R15 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010 a établi un nouveau record de distance. Romain Dumas, Timo Bernhard et Mike Rockenfeller ont parcouru 397 tours, soit 5 410 kilomètres. Ce nouveau record efface celui de 1971, établi par la Porsche 917 d’Helmut Marko, actuel manager des pilotes Red Bull, and Gijs van Lennep. At the time, the Hunaudières straight was not yet interspersed with the two chicanes breaking the maximum speed of the cars.
