This season, in the general opinion of Audi drivers and Peugeot , the proliferation of “gentleman” drivers on the grid, particularly in GT1 and LMP2, makes overtaking on the track complicated. Sebastian Bourdais (Peugeot 908 HDi FAP n°3), pole-sitter for this 78th edition, confides that he often gets scared when overtaking inexperienced drivers. “ When you come around the corners Porsche, that the driver opens the door for you and, when you arrive alongside, he turns on you while you are at 250 km/h, you tell yourself that this is not going to go well, explains Bourdais to AUTOhebdo.fr. There are hot moments. The fewer the better. Sometimes it's like poker. On the one hand, you can't afford to wait behind the other car for the time it would take to overtake. But on the other hand, if you don?t wait and double down as soon as possible, you can hang on and lose everything. You will have to be very vigilant about this. »
