Unless the car from the Young Driver AMR team, currently in reserve, joins the entry list, there will only be one Aston Martin V8 Vantage coming soon 24 Hours of Le Mans, the one lined up by the Jota Sport AMR team.
If we had known for some time that we would find Simon Dolan and Sam Hancock at the wheel of this car competing in the GTE Pro category, there was still uncertainty over the identity of the third driver. Finally, it was Chris Buncombe who was chosen to complete a crew which will therefore be 100% British. The latter already has a category victory in Sarthe. It was in LMP2, in 2007. In 2009 he drove an official Lola-Aston Martin in the Le Mans Series.

“I am delighted and excited to join the Jota Sport AMR team for my return to Le Mans, and to continue collaborating with the Aston Martin brand, declares the 32-year-old pilot. It will be the first time that I return to this circuit since winning LMP2 in 2007. So I have very good memories there. It's a great pilot with Sam and Simon. I'm sure we'll make a great crew. »

Chris Buncombe took the wheel of the AMV8 Vantage for the first time last Tuesday. The team now has an appointment this weekend at Le Mans for the test day.
