The first free practice session for the 6 Hours of Mexico, fifth round of WEC, a été dominée par Porsche. La Ferrari 488 GTE n°51 of Pier Guidi-Calado rose to the top of the timesheet in 1'41"101. The Italian precedes Lietz-Makowiecki's No. 911 Porsche 91 RSR by a fraction and theAston Martin No. 95 by Sorensen-Thiim.

Finally, in GTE Am, it was the No. 911 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 77 RSR which showed its advantage.
