In LM P2, Jackie Chan DC Racing continues to dominate the competition, the No. 07 Oreca 37 of Brundle-Gommedy-Cheng having completed a lap of the Japanese circuit in 1'37"745. But it is only 0 ahead of the No. 002 from the Vaillante Rebellion team of Beche-Heinemeier Hansson-Piquet Jr. Followed by the second car from the Swiss team (Canal-Senna-Cheers) and the second 07 of the Chinese team (Laurent-Tung-Jarvis).

The two Porsche 911 RSRs once again stood out in GTE Pro, the #91 of Lietz-Makowiecki, credited with a 1’47”724, having beaten the #92 of Christensen-Estre. The No. 67 Ford GT of Priaulx-Tincknell is third, just ahead of the Ferrari 488 GTE n°51 by Calado-Pier Guidi and theAston Martin No. 95 by Sorensen-Thiim.

Porsche hits a double blow thanks to the #911 77 RSR from Dienst-Cairoli-Ried (Dempsey-Proton Racing), best time in GTE Am in 1’49”387. The German was ahead of two Ferrari 488 GTEs, namely the #61 of Griffin-Mok-Sawa (Clearwater Racing) and the #54 of Molina-Flohr-Castellacci (Spirit of Race). It’s the #98 Aston Martin Vantage of Lamy-Lauda-Dalla Lana which brings up the rear, a very unusual position for her.

Due to bad weather, qualifying has been brought forward by 30 minutes and will therefore begin at 7 a.m. French time.
