Propriétaire du Team Sebah, devenu par la suite Speedy Racing Team Sebah puis Rebellion Racing, Hugh Hayden s?est éteint samedi dernier, au Portugal, des suites d?une crise cardiaque. En 1996, afin de faire courir son fils Bart (actuel team-manger) en Caterham Super Seven (d?où Sebah, sept en arabe), le Britannique fonda sa propre équipe, qui se dirigera vers l?endurance quelques années plus tard. Une décision judicieuse au vu des résultats, puisque l?écurie décrochera deux titres Teams GT2 en LMS en 2004 et 2005 avec Porsche, y ajoutant la couronne pilotes (Xavier Pompidou-Marc Lieb) lors de cette dernière année.
In 2008, renamed Speedy Racing Team Sebah, the team will enter a Lola-Judd in LMP2, before adding a Lola-Aston Martin racing in LMP1 the following season, which will miss out on victory during the 1000 km of Silverstone, the final round of the Le Mans Series 2009. New name change in 2010, the team taking the name of its official sponsor to become Rebellion Racing, and will focus exclusively on LMP1 with two Lolas.
