The 6 Hours of Silverstone are 35 years old

From September 9 to 11, on the occasion of the antepenultimate round of the ILMC and penultimate round of the Le Mans Series, the 6 Hours of Silverstone (formerly the 1000 km of Silverstone) will celebrate its 35th anniversary.
Pour l?occasion, plusieurs modèles ayant marqué l?histoire de l?épreuve britannique seront de la partie. On pourra notamment y retrouver la BMW 3.5 CSL du duo John Fitzpatrick-Tom Walkinshaw (lauréate de la première édition en 1976), la Porsche 935 K3, la première Porsche 956 (le châssis 001) qui a débuté sur ce même tracé en 1982, l?Audi R8 (un modèle victorieux en 2004 et 2005) ou encore la Peugeot 908 HDi FAP which triumphed twice in 2007 and 2010.
On the drivers side, we can notably cite the South African Desiré Wilson, winner of the 1980 edition and known for being the only woman to have won a Grand Prix of Formula 1 (it was in 1980, during an event which was part of the British championship and not the world championship, and which used single-seaters from previous seasons).
