Nicolet: “A real feat”

Unhappy at the 12 Hours of Sebring, where it entered two Oak Pescarolo-Judd prototypes in LMP1, the Oak Racing team nevertheless managed to secure a podium in the LMP2 category. Jacques Nicolet, team director, leaves Florida with a feeling of satisfaction. “The whole team accomplished a real feat this week by being present and competitive with three new cars, He explains. PFor a small private structure, it is simply exceptional because the winter was very short.

Despite the withdrawals, the performances seen are rather encouraging for the rest of the season.   
“The 15 and its crew showed all their potential by staying in contact with the leaders. This therefore gives us a lot of hope for the rest of the season, especially since the LMP1 is not yet in its 2011 configuration. The No.24 has certainly retired but Richard Hein will have had the pleasure of doing two laps leading the 12 Hours of Sebring! »

The LMP2 category smiled more on Jacques Nicolet's troops. “The great satisfaction is that from its first race, the new LMP2 which had only driven 200 km before taking the plane, finished on the podium with a crew in the spirit of the LMP2, two gentlemen and a young pilot. »
