Darren Turner prepares to contest his third season in LMP1 with Aston Martin Racing. Supported by Stefan Mücke and a third driver to be appointed, the Briton will be tough this year at the wheel of the?AMR-One, the new LMP1 from the Gaydon firm. On the program: The entire ILMC (except Sebring) and the 6 Hours of Le Castellet. But after simply aiming for the honorary position of “best gasoline prototype” in 2009 and 2010, Turner intends to get involved in the Audi-Peugeot . And for this it counts on a good equivalence between gasoline and diesel engines.

?It?s fantastic to see that Aston Martin Racing has been able to design a car from the ground up to meet the new regulations, concedes the double winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GT1 category in 2007 and 2008. It is even more fantastic than anything I could have hoped for. In recent years, it was frustrating to see that if you didn't have a diesel-powered car, you couldn't claim victory in major events. I'm crossing my fingers that this season the cars powered by a petrol unit will be able to compete fairly, which would only delight the drivers as well as the thousands of spectators present every year at Le Mans. »
