There will be no Q3 for Carlos Sainz in Jeddah. Having made a mistake during a flying lap, the driver Ferrari returned to the track a few minutes later but was unable to record a time due to a damaged rear wing but also a new gap which propelled him beyond the limits of the track. The Iberian will start 15th this Sunday. Among the others eliminated we find in particular Fernando Alonso only 14th or even Daniel Ricciardo, 11th. Kimi Räikkönen and George Russell will also not see Q3.

In difficulty in Q1, Lewis Hamilton rectified the situation by signing the best time of Q2 in 1'27″712 ahead of Sergio Pérez and Max Verstappen. Despite the engine shutdowns during the first part of qualifying, Valtteri Bottas took part in Q2 and finished in 4th position just ahead Yuki tsunoda et Pierre Gasly.
