No place for Sunday at the Hungarian GP and work planned

If you were planning to attend the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix (July 21-23), we hope you already have your ticket because Sunday is already sold out! In 2022, 100 spectators attended, and the Hungaroring was already sold out in April. Now this date has been brought forward to the first week of December.

Something to delight Zsolt Gyulay, CEO of Hungaroring Sport Zrt. “I took over as manager of the Hungaroring in 2010, and we have been waiting for this moment almost ever since. Of course, we haven't rested on our laurels over the past decade either: our track has undergone a number of renovations, we've worked continuously to meet new safety requirements, and in 2016 we redid the entire asphalt of the track, or more precisely, we replaced the upper part, called the wear layer. »

Furthermore, renovation work will be carried out on the Hungarian enclosure. The first step is to upgrade outdated public services, such as the drinking water, fire water and wastewater networks, and develop the electricity networks.

In addition to the first phase, the main entrance to the Hungaroring will be renovated, a customer area will be created, and a café will be opened. The two buildings will be connected by a modern portal.

However, given what is happening in Formula 1 and new leads coming in, that might not be enough, and it's really the last moment to start new work. We can see that among the many permanent circuits, traditional sites like the Hungaroring are increasingly appreciated, and the proximity to Budapest will always be an incredible attraction for the Hungaroring.

However, we must not forget that the infrastructure of the new circuits offers a much higher level of service than ours. Thanks to the strategic development program, we will be able to compete with them in a reasonable time, which will allow us to maintain Formula 1 here and thus attract attention to our country and our beautiful capital year after year.

The interest in Formula 1 is incredible – it is a great pleasure for the Hungaroring that tickets for the weekend and Sunday have been sold at such a rate, because it shows that not only the drivers, but also the fans love our circuit. »
