Have you ever dreamed of setting foot in the world of Formula 1 ? Well thanks to Alfa Romeo, you can even put both feet in it! The Italian-Swiss team has teamed up with turbocharger company Accelleron to give fans the opportunity to be in the shoes of Valtteri Bottas as well as Zhou Guangyu…but literally.

A unique pair of custom Puma sneakers in Alfa Romeo colors is being auctioned from November 20 to December 6 to mark the end of the 2022 season. Special shoes that have been hand-painted with images of the Formula car 1 of the team for 2022 – the C42 – with design details inspired by the helmets of Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou. Objective: to raise funds to support Save the Children, the world's leading children's rights organization and the team's official charity partner.

37 hours of work for the special Alfa Romeo pair

Behind this exclusive design is Accelleron employee and artist Jetmir Dzelili, who started customizing shoes in 2020 under the name Jedy. “I've been drawing for many years, but it's become a more serious hobby since 2016. I painted a pair of sneakers for a colleague's son and word spread. I was then asked if I wanted to help mark our partnership with Alfa Romeo and of course I was happy to get involved, especially as it was for a good cause. » It took him 37 hours to transform the Puma sneakers into a unique piece, which was then presented to Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou at an event at Accelleron headquarters in October. Signed by both drivers, the shoes will be sold to the highest bidder at an auction via the F1 Authentics website.
