Ayumu Iwasa will take part in his third Free Practice session in Formula 1 on the occasion of the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, this will be his first time behind the wheel of a car of the parent team since during his two previous sessions, the Japanese driver was driving a Visa Cash App, in Japan and Abu Dhabi last year. This time he will drive the RB21 of the four-time world champion Max Verstappen. He is already the sixth rookie announced to take part in FP1 at the Sakhir circuit.

Koji Watanabe, president of Honda Racing Corporation, shares the Japanese driver's enthusiasm: " Ayumu Iwasa will take full advantage of this precious opportunity to drive the car that won the last Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix, transforming these 60 minutes into a springboard for the future.
A member of the Red Bull Junior Team since 2021, Ayumu Iwasa is currently in his second season of Super Formula.
