The start of the Spanish Grand Prix was given at 14:03 p.m. under the sun and it was Mark Webber (Red Bull) who got off to the best start. Sebastian Vettel (Redbull), Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) and Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) showed signs of overtaking but the Australian was able to protect his position at the entrance to the first corner. The first six on the grid kept their position after the first lap: Webber, Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Button, Schumacher.
