Eric Boullier, former team manager of DAMS, a French team accustomed to GP2 Series games, knows Nico Hulkenberg (Williams) for having followed him in the disciplines which allowed him to rise to the top F1. " He is a young German driver who has won everything in the lower categories and who deserves his place on the front lines because he has enormous talent and has had a very successful career so far. », explains Eric Boullier, team manager of Renault F1.
« Even before GP2, he?s someone who had made an impression on me in the previous categories, like Formula BMW and F3 Euro Series. In GP2, he drove very well but he also benefited from the rise in F1 of Romain Grosjean who, at the time, was fighting for the title with him. But Hülkenberg has one of the best records on the grid today. »
