Éric Boullier, Team Principal of McLaren, indicated that he had every reason to believe that his team would be able to compete with the top teams during the year. The Woking team is over-motivated after its fifth place won by Fernando Alonso last weekend at the Australian GP.
« Red Bull is still clearly ahead of us at the moment. They are in this exclusive group with Mercedes et Ferrari. But McLaren intends to join this group. I hope we forget about the middle of the grid in the next races to achieve this privilege. The car has potential and I don’t see why we wouldn’t succeed in the next events,” commented the Frenchman BBC Sport.
