The driver was hoping for a racing incident during the Turkish Grand Prix for his strategy to pay off. He explained this at the end of the race.
« Starting last, I knew it was going to be difficult. Fisichella seemed to be having problems and was taking up a lot of space, I couldn't risk overtaking him. But as a result, I lost 3 or 4 seconds in the first lap. Then, I had to deal with my large load of gasoline, which led me to a lonely race. My long second stint on soft tires was not easy to negotiate. We opted for a one-stop strategy hoping to see the safety car help us move up the standings. It is clear that we have not been in the rhythm all weekend. But we have to stay positive and hope for improvements at Silverstone. »
