When the lights went out, Jenson Button got the best start. His teammate Rubens Barrichello missed out and finished the first lap in seventh place.
At the end of the first lap, Button is ahead Hag, Massa, Kubica, Raïkkonen, Rosberg, Barrichello and Nakajima.
Several pit stops at the end of the first loop for Heidfeld (puncture), Sutil and Webber (front wing change) and Heikki Kovalainen (open front axle).
