Hispania Racing Team, after working all night on the team's single-seaters, managed to finish Bruno Senna's car before the end of the first free practice session. The Brazilian pilot was able to debug the car by making him take to the track, while the other drivers tried to set a final time.
Karun Chandhok will have to wait for the second free practice session to be able to appear on track. However, even with hard work from the mechanics, the car may not be ready in time for it to race this Friday. HRT hopes to finish preparing Chandhok's car so he can put it through a few laps before Saturday.
Reason for satisfaction for HRT: the first run of Bruno Senna's car, even very brief, revealed no major problem with the car.
